James Bonaiuto

PhD. Student, Neuroscience Department
Advisor: Dr. Michael A. Arbib

Research Topics

  1. The Mirror System
  2. Primate Imitation
  3. Action Selection

Research Overview

James Bonaiuto is researching the extensions to the mirror system required to model primate imitation. He has extended the mirror system model of Oztop & Arbib (2002) to include recent data on audio-visual mirror neurons and mirror neurons that respond to partially occluded grasps. He is currently working on Augmented Competitve Queuing (ACQ), a model of flexible action sequence learning and deployment.
