  • Activated by auditory stimuli, transmits visual and oculomotor information to superior colliculus (ParĂ© & Wurtz, 1997)
  • Small, overlapping receptive fields with rough topography of contralateral visual field
  • Divided into LIPv (ventral) and LIPd (dorsal)
    • LIPv has connections with PO, V3 complex, V4, MT, MST, TEO
    • LIPd has connections with PO, V3 complex, V4, MT, MST, TEO, TE (Blatt et al., 1990)
